Lamborghini 400GT

The Lamborghini 400GT, created by Carrozzeria Touring and first presented at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show, was initially a derivative of the 350GT coupe fitted with an enlarged 3.9 litre V12 engine.  The initial cars were designated as the 400GT or 400GT Interim.  The 400GT 2+2 was developed with a different roofline making the interior roomier to accommodate the additional 2 seats.  The 400GT was fitted with a 3.9 litre V12 engine whilst the 400GT 2+2 was fitted with a 3.5 litre V12 engine.
Production of the initial 400GT coupes was started in 1966 with 23 cars being produced.  Production of the 400GT 2+2 continued through until 1968 with 247 cars being produced.
