Ferrari Daytona 365 GTB/4
|
The Ferrari 365 GTB/4, popularly known as the Ferrari Daytona, styled by
Pininfarina, made its public debut at the 1968 Paris Auto Salon. The
sharp-edged styling was a departure from previous Pininfarina designs,
but was a more traditional Gran Tourer (Gran Turismo) than its rival
Lamborghini Miura. Production was between 1968 and 1973 with the
Berlinetta 365 GTB/4 and Spyder GTS/4 models being officially
manufactured by Ferrari.
|
The Ferrari Daytona is a front-engined supercar with the rear wheels
being driven by a Tipo 251 V12 engine. Originally the Daytona was
fitted with fixed headlights behind an acrylic glass cover but these
evolved into pop-up twin headlights in 1971. |
